Christmas Master Distributors Community Cheer

2

CHRISTMAS will again be a little brighter this year for some of those needing a hand, thanks to Master Distributors staff and owners.

For a number of years, an annual Christmas hamper drive has been organised by Master Distributors and its suppliers, calling for non-perishable goods and other supplies suggested by the various charities involved.

This year is no exception, with hampers about to be made to support Berry Street and Dixon House.

Established in 1877, Berry Street is the largest independent child and family welfare organisation in Victoria. Today they help children and young people recover from the devastating impact of abuse, neglect and violence, they help struggling mothers and fathers to be the parents they want to be, and contribute to, and advocate for, a fairer and more inclusive community.

Dixon House is a neighbourhood centre located in the heart of Clayton, south-east Melbourne, providing a range of affordable programs for all ages from primary school children all the way to retirement age adults. For more than 25 years they have been there for people from a diverse range of ages, cultures and backgrounds, who will support one another, learn and celebrate together.

An Australian family-owned, brand-building business, Master Distributors takes great pride in supporting charities and organisations, especially in the communities it operates in.

As a local employer and also manufacturer, Master Distributors wants to ensure Australia keeps making things – by Australians, for Australians – whenever possible. Unlike moves by business to export operations overseas, Master Distributors has actively investigated and brought some overseas production back into Australia, and will continue to look for more opportunities to continue this.

Staff at Master Distributors are now adding a few additional purchases in their supermarket trolleys to generously donate in Christmas hampers, and the owners will also donate products from their ranges.

Chief Executive, Sandra Dobbin, praised the efforts of everyone who are donating. “This is a great initiative to be able to assist those less fortunate, especially at this time of year,” she said.

“Christmas is not always a happy time for everyone every year. Hopefully we change that a little for some,” she said.

“These organisations operate in the communities around us, and we feel it is important to give back and help those who live where we do too whenever we can.”
